SCC Wildflowers...

So here we are, May! Soon the swimming pools will be open and the mosquito's will be hunting us. We have already had a few record hot days, but now we are in my favorite part of spring, cool mornings and sunny afternoons.

S.C.C. 25th Anniversary Seeds!

Lucky for me, I work at this wonderful place that never forgets the hard work all the staff put in everyday to strive for success and a beautiful, clean, and efficient campus. We had a wonderful appreciation luncheon this past Monday. Then there was a little surprise; I wound up with some wildflower seeds handed out by the 25th Anniversary Celebration Committee!

In a brief discussion with the recently retired Pam Cilek, she gave me a wonderful idea. Why not challenge the campus and the readers of this blog to a little friendly contest? Pam has promised to take her seeds and grow them in a pot at home, as well as a pot here for us.

My pot left, Pam Cilek's pot right...

So here is the challenge: Plant your SCC 25th Anniversary seeds in a pot or planter, take some photos of its progress. I will post progress photos here June 20th, the first day of summer. At that point we will have a deadline depending on growth rate for the final photos to be sent in. I will post every participants photo here so everyone can see.

The SCC 25th Anniversary Committee has a lot of neat events coming up in the future you're are sure to hear about in my blog, including an anniversary tree planting!

So there's your challenge! Send me your photos as your seeds progress. I hope to see some beautiful wildflower photos soon. I'll see you outside!

Day 1: Anyone who knows me knows I cheat! My pot is the big one on the left...
