Classes Begin...

Lots of interesting things going on in the grounds department. We have seen insect species and weed species we have never seen before, undoubtedly due to the mild winter and warm hot summer we experienced. Even under the conditions of water usage mandates, we fared pretty well. A little extra effort repairing and replacing some things will be in order, but we learned a lot of lessons, some of which I will be sure to blog about in the near future!

But, this week, students have returned on campus. I have been through this multiple times, but I still get a little case of the butterflies in my stomach the first day of classes, "Is campus presentable? Is it functional? Is it safe?" these are just a few of the questions running through my head as I drive around early Monday morning. You would think I would be used to it by now, but I still get as excited as the first semester I experienced here.

Social Science Building and full Yellow Lot from afar...

I think in part is due to the fact that as a educational institution, we are quite frankly the best. We have a community of students that are polite and driven, faculty that is caring and dedicated, and staff that is devoted and proud to do our part. The S.C.C. community here is like no other. Its not hard to be inspired at S.C.C.

Now that cooler weather is here, I have lots of exciting fall topics to discuss, so stay rooted, and I will see you outside!
